The best tool for client website feedback – Pastel

FEATURED

Client revisions and feedback can really be stressful without having any tools. The back and forth emails or even things like, Clickup, Asana, Milanote, and Trello, communications can get real time consuming. Am I right?

So, I set down one day and just started googling software for client feedback, with a live URL. I wanted something that was plug in play, so to speak, as well as easy to use for my clients, and I just wanted them to be able to see their site live, and comment right on the areas they wanted changed. I then landed on a site called Pastel.

I knew right away after watching a few seconds of their demo that this was exactly what I was looking for. So, I tried it. My very first client was in love! She thought it was super cool, easy, and straight to the point.

So what is Pastel?

Pastel is an easy to use product to get feedback from your clients or directly to your team of any website or url that you want feedback for. You can comment with a pin on any area of the website.

So how does it work?

Once you sign up you simply type, or if your like me, just copy and paste the url to the site you want your client to see. Then, you hit the blue arrow. Next you will see a preview window appear below. You can then rename it, open it to preview it, or share it! To share you have a couple options. You can invite by email or just copy and and paste the link and give it to your client or team.

But that’s not all Pastel can do

Once the url is open you can export any and all comments to places like Trello, Monday, Asana. How cool is that?

Communicating all inside Pastel?

Once inside a Pastel link you can toggle back and forth between comment mode, and browse mode.

Comment mode lets you click anywhere at type in a comment, where browse mode lets you browse the full website; meaning all links are fully working and your client or team can see all of the pages. When you view comments you will even see what page the comment is for as well as what area as each comment box has a screenshot of that area matched with the number it was assigned to. If you click on the screenshot it will open in a full screen window so you can see the exact area the comment was pinned on.

When communicating back and forth you can easily hit the resolve button to take those comments to the resolve section. I love this feature. You can also add an attachment right into the comment box! This is probably my most favorite feature because if a client wanted to switch out an image or provide me with new content they can, right in the comments! And lastly is the ability to search for comment. I have not actually had to search for anything yet but it’s nice to know that if I needed to, it’s available.

The last cool thing to mention is the ability to see both desktop and mobile as separate sites. And if you or someone else comment on the mobile side, Pastel already knows that is a mobile comment and it will separate that for you.

Pastel has a FREE plan that you can use, or you can choose a plan that best fits your needs. If you don’t see a plan that fits your needs reach out to them and see if they might have one for you. I did as I do not have a team and Pastel was able to accommodate me.
