As a designer I am always and forever testing new things. I believe it’s important to have options for your website because no two businesses are the same and everyone’s needs and functions are so much different. So I have given Bravenet a try!

I found Bravent last year whan I was looking for a way to password protect Showit pages without using the WordPress blog side of things. Someday when I get a change, ill write a blog post on that as well as a video! So here are the differences between Shopify Lite and Bravenet.

Bravenet vs Shopify Lite

Bravenet– Has an option to embed categories, has a shopping cart icon embed option, has a search embed option, has an option to have buy now only buttons, or an option with an image and title, and lastly has the option to add additional addons to the buy now option (called variations). In addition, you can have some control over the look and design, but it does mostly try to match your website automatically. Unless, of course you know how to do CSS and it this case you can have full control. You also have tons of options as far as excepting a payment. You can apply and create discounts.

Shopify Lite– Has an option to embed buy now buttons, or a collection of products. No shopping cart icon, no search embed option. You do have better control over color and style of the button. Less payment processer options, and you can also create a discount code.

Watch the short walk through video

In short, I am not saying you should use Bravenet but it is an option I think others may want to know about. And that’s the whole reason on why I created the video and have provided this post. I may be missing a few options with Shopify and or Bravenet. I have not sat down and completely compared the two, but this is based on what I use and have the most experience in.
